TINA
SKANDALIS
Tina practices
and teaches yoga as a way to explore and nurture the body, mind, spirit
connection, focusing on the breath while exploring the body and soul. The
foundation of her yoga practice is grounded in her studies of shamanism and
her desire to support people in the exploration of their true authentic
self.
Tina started her yoga practice in 2000 while attending UCSB, where she
earned a BA in history focusing on public health and contemporary
environmental policy. Throughout her life she has felt a deep connection
with nature leading her to a more simple, natural and healthy way of living.
Tina moved to Murphys in 2007 with the intention of grounding in the
principles of nature as a focus for healing,
Tina views yoga as active meditation, an intense exploration of the body
heart, mind and spirit. Within her teaching she conveys basic principles of
breath, depth and movement, incorporating core work and basic alignment.
Her understanding of the body developed over the past ten years through the
influence of Heather Tiddens teaching yoga from a shamanic perspective,
Christa Rypins anatomy, imagery, core Pilates and yoga and Leslie Howard
Iyengar style yoga.
